Bathroom Maintenance Tips

Bathrooms come in different forms.  A powder room is designed for people who are always on the go.  Master bathrooms are intended and exclusively for the homeowner’s use.  A full bath with tub and shower are reserved for people who want to relax.

Whatever type of bathroom is installed in your home, it will eventually be messed up and you may be tasked to clean it.  Here are some maintenance tips you can apply the next time you clean your bathroom.

Dusting

You’ll be planning less bathroom renovation in Springfield Ma if you make it a habit to vacuum and dust it.  Your bathroom can accumulate mountains of dust without you noticing it.  Similarly, hair strands and clothing fibers are invisible dirt which can ruin the space.  Work from top to bottom with a vacuum cleaner to sap-out dust and hairs between cracks and crevices.

Mildew Concerns

Mildews are suspicious growths in your bathroom.  A bathroom that lacks of air movement and light exposure often houses them.  A stagnant environment preserves a moist area where mildew can harmoniously thrive.

During your showers, turn on the fan for around 30 minutes.  After the shower, dehumidify the room by opening a wide window.

Scrubbing and Rinsing

In scrubbing, utmost care should be taken to avoid scratching the surfaces of shiny wall and floor tiles.  There are non-scratch abrasive pads available in the market which are suited for sticky gray rings adhering inside the tub.

Chemical cleaners used during the scrubbing are made to attract soil and dirt particles.  Rinse right after detergent spraying to avoid dirt adherence.

Cleaning Schedule

Scrubbing and rinsing should be scheduled.  A pipe cleaned once-a-month will keep oil, grease and hair clogs at bay.  You can pour half a cup of baking soda down the drain, immediately followed by half a cup of white vinegar.  It will foam afterwards.  Wait until it has settled then pour boiling water to clear out possible clogs.
